THE WORD FROM BRAD

Tim Slade and the Freightliner Racing team had their share of highs and lows today. Whilst the lows included a failed alternator and a stacked pit stop, the team worked hard to try better Tims position through a 4 stop strategy. Tim scored the fastest lap of the race today, again proving the strength of the Freightliner Commodore. Tim brought the Freightliner Racing Commodore across the line in 17th and now makes it 25 finishes from 25 starts at the Barbagallo circuit. An impressive record!

BRAD

“I felt our cars were really strong across the weekend however it was a really tough race today. We had to double stack there at the early safety car, as many others did at the start of the race, which put Tim back in the mid pack.”

“Shortly after the alternator failed so we had to do a battery change at the next stop and then we had to turn everything off inside the car. It makes it unbelievably difficult to drive, as for Tim it meant the cool suit did not work so it was a tough slog for him in the car without it. Tim did an amazing job to finish where he did considering.”

“We were on the back foot from that point forward. To still be 10th in the championship is a great result after such a tough day. I know Tim and the guys are still disappointed though after showing such great strength yesterday.”

“I think a safety car would have had a good impact on us. We did our best to get positions back with a bit of strategy but a safety car would have been perfect for us towards the end of todays race.”

“We head now to Winton which is our home track and where Tim has had a couple of wins, so as a group we can’t wait to get home and go racing again in a couple of weeks.”
