THE WORD FROM TIM

It was a solid result for the Freightliner Racing camp today. Not only did Tim score his best result of the season (so far…) with a 4th place finish, the team behind the scenes scored the fastest pit stop of the race. Slade was looking set for a podium but with Shane Van Gisbergen stopping very late in the race, Shane made an incredible charge through the field, and just managed to sneak past on the final lap to snatch that podium finish off Tim.

“The team did an awesome job all day and have given me a really fast car. I’m disappointed I couldn’t reward them with a podium today. The times dropped with the tyres going away there at the end, and with Van Gisbergen being on newer ones, he was making up a lot of ground.”

“The strategy we had today was the right one, it was a little aggressive being earlier than others but its worked well today. Hopefully tomorrow we can redeem ourselves and I can give the guys a trophy to take home and overall I’m fairly pleased with the result today.”
