THE WORD FROM TIM

Supercars declared today’s race a $5 million dollar damage bill after 11 of the 26 Supercars were caught in a lap two pileup, ending the race for all involved. Tim in the Freightliner Racing Commodore was one of the cars involved, along with stable mates Nick Percat and Tim Blanchard, resulting in a hugely disappointing end to the day for Brad Jones Racing. The race was red flagged, and resumed with the remaining cars doing one final lap, totalling 4 laps completed of what was meant to be a 50 lap race. The team are focused on repairing the cars overnight and getting Tim back on track for tomorrow.

Tim “Practice and Qualifying was good today. We were quite competitive when the track was wet, but as the track was drying the tyre pressure were just a touch off as the conditions were continually changing.”

“In the race, Fabian and Rick were having a fair battle. I was right behind them, Garth was spun and the rest of it all happened around me; we got a couple of fairly solid hits.”

“I feel for Brad and the team as there has been some huge damage with the BJR cars today in both the Super2 Series and now all 3 cars in the Supercars series.”
