Qualifying: Position: 8th – 1:09.7029 // Pole Position: Jamie Whincup – 1:09.4113
Race 17 – 200kms: Position: 6th // Winner: Craig Lowndes
Tim was set for a good day after qualifying in 8th place for today’s 200km race. Tim got a great start off the line and moved up a spot by the end of the first lap. By the time all cars had completed their second stop Tim was still holding steady in 7th position. With 10 laps to go the field was focusing on their tyres, and Tim was putting pressure on Scott McLaughlin but couldn’t quite get there in the end. It was a solid weekend for Freightliner Racing with two top ten results, and one of the better results the team has had here in recent years.
TIM “All in all, it was a good solid weekend. I think today’s race it was obvious that there was a front group of cars and then the rest of the field. It was nice to be with that front group of cars. Again we had a similar balance in the car all weekend, we learned a little but have a bit more to go to improve our struggles. Everyone did an awesome job this weekend. Looking ahead the BJR cars were strong at Sydney Motorsport Park last year. I’m looking forward to regrouping after this break we have and getting to Sydney to put on a good show, and get some more good results.”
