THE WORD FROM TIM

Being a non-championship event and part of the Formula One Grand Prix, the V8 Supercars format for the weekend is unlike any other we see this year. Today is the only qualifying session of the weekend, and this determines the starting positions for Race One tomorrow. The finishing positions in Race One determine the starting positions for the Race Two, and Race Two results determine grid positions for Race Three. Sunday’s grid line-up is based on accumulated points from the three races. The rolling starts make an interesting spectacle for fans and teams alike, as many cars did not leave unscathed last year.

TIM - “We gained time throughout the sessions today but it wasn’t enough to get us further forward today. We’ll be looking to hook the car up more tonight and I’ll work hard tomorrow to move forward in the races.”
