Fabian Coulthard will debut a new Freightliner Racing chassis when the V8 Supercar Championship arrives in Darwin for the next round of the series.

His current VF Commodore which he put on the podium yet again this past weekend at the teams home Track of Winton Motor Raceway will now be retired. The Freightliner Racing V8 Supercar known as 'Tallulah', named after the iconic 'Cool Runnings' movie will sit proudly in the Brad Jones Racing garage as the most successful V8 Supercar the team has ever had in their 15 year V8 Supercar career.

Work started on the new chassis in April, with the gaps in between the Tasmania - Perth and Winton - Darwin rounds being a good time for the team to focus on the project. This chassis is the 5th COTF chassis built in the BJR workshop.

'Tallulah' gave Coulthard his first ever V8 Supercars Championship race win at Symmons Plains in 2013 and first pole in Pukekohe that year.

"It's a pretty proud moment for me to be able to retire this car with a lot of great achievements. 7 pole positions, 8 race wins, 25 podiums and 2 lap records (Qualifying record at both Winton & Bathurst). The lap record at Bathurst (2m05.6080s) being one of the highlights." Fabian said.

"Any time you get to roll out a brand new car is a good day. It is a cool experience for my team to be building this new car. Obviously we want to achieve even more than what we did with Tallulah, my team are really excited to make this happen. As for the name of this new car, stay tuned!" Fabian added.

The car is still under construction and the team hopes to have it ready for a shakedown in early June before setting off to Darwin. Team Boss Brad Jones added: "We have been working on chassis #5 for a while, there hasn't been any rush to introduce it into the team. With the gaps in the calendar recently it has given us the opportunity to finish the car off. With 'Drive the NT' being one of our key supporters it's appropriate for us to debut our new car in the NT."

The team will post more information about the shakedown when we have a date locked in. The new car will see its race debut in Darwin when the V8 Supercars arrive for Round 5 of the Championship on 19-21st of June.
